I have been exploring more and more ways to use therapeutic grade essential oils in my everyday life and came up with this yummy soup. But wait, don't go run out to the store, not just any essential oil will do. Many oils are being processed at high temperature and high pressure, which may keep their aromatic properties but will diminish their healing properties.
Pure, therapeutic grade essential oils such as doTERRA essential oils are safe and natural and are a great way to enhance your meals. They are more concentrated and can be used year round if fresh herbs and spices are not available or replacing dried herbs or powdered spices that have lost many of the essential oils that are found in the natural plant. A little goes a long way, you won't need very much. I recommend to start with a drop or two and check the flavor before you add more. It is best to add the essential oils when the food has cooled down a bit, so the volatile oils are not affected by the heat. If you need to add the oil sooner then you may add a bit more to account for any oil that may be evaporated during the cooking process.
